Weak Bug Spray Warns Colony

When threatened by the weak concentration chemicals in over the counter bug sprays, a colony try to protect itself. It is not uncommon for an ant, roach or termite population to breed more rapidly and in the case of colonized insects dividing the colony to create another colony. That is why weak pest control efforts with over the counter products often backfire. On contact sprays depend on each individual insect coming in direct contact with the chemical, those that do will die if they are exposed to a heavy dose of the chemical. Their death will warn the others in the colony of the threat. In response the entire colony will focus on breeding. They will produce more offspring than normal and when the colony has grown to a size that is not sustainable by the available resources it will divide and relocate. Now you've got two ant, roach or termite colonies. The FDA approved chemicals used by professional exterminators often have a residual effect. this means that as the insect com es in contact with the chemical, it will linger and spread to the other insects that come into contact with the insect who made that first contact with the chemical. The population will die off before it has a chance to respond.
