Most people don't realize that there are basically 2 types of spiders. There are ground spiders and web spiders. Ground spiders, as the name suggests thrive in the ground. They are usually stronger than web building spiders. They can be aggressive, and they are usually nocturnal hunters. They stalk their prey at night and will feed on just about any bug they find. Since ground spiders are nocturnal and they do not build webs they don't often get in the way of humans. Although it can pose a bigger threat to people if a venomous ground spider bites, its the web spider that exterminators are typically called to treat.
