Bed Bug Bite or Mosquito?

What does a bed bug bite look like? A bed bug bite is similar to a mosquito bite with some very telling differences. Both the mosquito bite and the bed bug bite are  small raised itchy patches on the skin caused by the feeding of a parasitic insect. Both itch both can be red although a mosquito bite does not always redden a bed bug will. A mosquito bite will appear within  minutes of having been bitten and a bed bug bite can take up to 48 hours to appear. A bed bug bite is generally round where as a mosquito bite can be round or blotchy depending on how long the insect has been feeding. Mosquito bites are not in any specific space in relation to one another while if there is more than one bed bug bite, they will generally appear in ruler straight rows of three or four. That is because a single bed bug will feed for up to 5 minutes in one spot and then walk directly to another feeding there then moving on in  that same straight path once or twice more before having its fill.
